To run Reason 11, you need:

You can upgrade from any previous version of Reason to Reason 11 for $129 / €129 or to Reason 11 Suite for $249 / €249. Please note that there's no grace period or pre-order for Reason Suite.


Any DAW that supports VST3 plugins can run Reason Rack Plugin. We have specifically tested Reason Rack Plugin with the latest versions of Ableton Live, FL Studio (Windows), Studio One, Cubase, Reaper and Bitwig.

No, Reason Rack Plugin is VST3 only and there are no plans to develop a VST2 version.


No, Reason Rack Plugin is not yet available as an AAX plugin as of now. We are looking at the AAX format but no decisions have been made yet.


Reason 11 Intro, Reason 11 and Reason 11 Suite all include Reason Rack Plugin with the same devices included as in the accompanying version.


Reason 11 Suite is a version of Reason 11 that includes 16 additional premium Rack Extensions from Reason Studios that are otherwise available separately. If you want a lot of extra sonic horsepower, this is the version to get.


Yes, both versions are available to download from your account pages and fully cross-platform.


No, ReWire has been discontinued in Reason 11. If you have projects that use ReWire, you can keep your previous version of Reason installed alongside Reason 11. Otherwise, we suggest that you use Reason Rack Plugin instead,


Europa by Reason will be discontinued since Europa is included in all versions of Reason Rack Plugin. Everyone who owns Europa by Reason will be able to continue using it, but it will no longer be available for sale.


Reason 11 supports VST2 64-bit plugins and Rack Extensions.


No, Reason Rack Plugin is a plugin and not a VST host, but it does run Rack Extensions.


No, but you can upgrade your Reason Intro or Reason Lite license directly to Reason 11 and then, if you want, upgrade Reason 11 to Reason 11 Suite.


Just as for previous versions, Reason 11 can be authorized in a couple of different ways:

- Computer Authorization (for offline use)
- Internet Verification (requires a connection to the internet)

Reason Rack Plugin is authorized with the same license and in the same way and you authorize the stand-alone version of Reason.
