We have been multisampling a wonderfully lively and sweet‑sounding original Sequential Prophet‑5 from 1978, a true survivor from the earliest era of polyphonic analog synthesis.

This particular unit was loaded with the 40 original factory patches — five banks with eight sounds each — the very programs that defined the Prophet’s identity in its first years.

To preserve the instrument’s personality, we sampled many of these patches key by key, letting every voice card, every drifting oscillator, and every slightly misbehaving filter stage speak for itself.

Vintage analog circuitry doesn’t repeat itself; it reveals itself. And this Prophet‑5, with nearly five decades of life behind it, carries a sonic fingerprint that no modern emulation can fully imitate.

The result is not just a set of samples — it’s a portrait of an aging analog instrument, captured in motion. You hear the subtle instability, the micro‑variations in attack, the way certain notes bloom differently depending on temperature, tuning, and the Prophet’s own mood.

It brings something entirely different to the table than a plugin: a collection of authentically uncertain tones, where the beauty lies in the imperfections, and the imperfections are part of the music.
