CV NoteQuantize Tool

Turn wandering voltage into confident melody. CV Note Quantize locks any CV stream into a chosen musical scale, then outputs both pitch CV and a matching gate – perfect for turning generative modulation into lines that sound intentional.

Choose a scale (or build your own by toggling keys on/off), set Root, and Min/Max note limits to keep results inside a chosen range. Tracking controls how strict the quantizer is about deciding when the pitch has “really changed” (crucial for noisy CV). Gate behavior adapts depending on whether Gate In is connected: either follow gate in, or generate gates from detected note changes, with timing shaped by the selected gate mode.

SCALE, ROOT, AND USER SCALE

• Scale chooses a preset scale (or User, end of list).
• Root transposes that scale to the key/
center you want
• User lets you build your own scale by toggling keys on and off directly on the keyboard display

RANGE (MIN/MAX NOTE)

Min and Max Note limit the output to a chosen register.

TRACKING

The tracking control decides how “strict” Note Quantize should be when deciding that a pitch has changed enough to count as a new note.

GATE BEHAVIOR

• Gate In connected: notes & gates follow Gate In rising edges (pitch updates on those edges)
• Gate In not connected: notes & gates follow quantized input note detection

The selected Gate Mode determines the timing and whether the output behaves like clear retriggering pulses on any registered note change, or holds the note set by Gate Length.
