Orlando JX10

Taped Synthethic Noises. Orlando JX10 is awesome if you understand when perfection isn’t perfection in the normal sense. Like one happy customer said: “I had enough pretty sounds already so this is great!”

Orlando JX10 contains 444 edgy sounds from the last truly analog Roland synthesizer ever: The lovely JX10 (also known as the MKS-70 rack and from its glorious nickname - the Super JX).

Here’s the secret sauce: Before sampling our JX10 patches, the sounds were recorded to cassette tape. Did we sample chords too? We sampled chords too.

But wait so Obese Fifths right? Yes of course. But what else? We spent an entire year building the patches first. Roland JX10 has such a warm soul! But did you know its TB-303 DNA? Get to know it.

The refill highlights the importance of imperfection and “sampliness” in an overly polished sound world. It was made to sound decidedly gritty and noisy, bringing a touch of Ensoniq Mirage or Roland 10 / Akai S-700 / S-900 — just right for the production of 12″ techno with the edge that clean software plugins seldom provides. This is actually seriously fun!

Also included are TR-909 and V-Synth kits. You can make entire tracks with the refill or use it as an extra spice. It also includes new Combinator variations on the classic Malström factory patch we made, which you might have had for years without knowing this, called “Amazing Lead”. And there’s Subtractor work in here too.

Orlando JX also with comes NN19, NNXT and ReDrum stuff. The refill is compatible with Reason 3 and up! It takes the experience back to when sample(r)s were allowed to sound like sample(r)s. When building tracks with it you will understand how fresh and cool a little dirt can be in the mix.

Roland JX10 recorded to tape + sampled from tape + looped in sometimes obvious ways for a 90s techno / house atmosphere. All our respect goes to the fathers of the brilliance fader (actually a true JX feature) at Roland.

The Combinator patches are divided into BASS, BELL, CHORD, EP, LEAD, PAD and POLYSYNTH. Dr Rex includes INSTRUMENT REX, and the Extras folder presents you with no less than 14 musical examples and beats. Malström is sorted as BASS, FX, LEAD, PAD and POLYSYNTH. NN19 is sorted as FX and SAMPLER. The NN-XT patches are delivered via folders BASS, BELL, CHORD, FX, LEAD, PAD, PERCUSSION, POLYSYNTH and SAMPLER. The ReDrum folder gives you 25 ReDrum kits. Subtractor contains BASS, BELL, FX, LEAD, MONOSYNTH, PAD, PERCUSSION, POLYSYNTH and WAVETABLE. Finally Thor brings BASS, BELL, FLUTE, FX, LEAD, PAD and POLYSYNTH.
