Degrade your sound. On purpose.
Artifact is a lo-fi signal processor built for Reason that adds the kind of character you can’t fake bit crushing, sample rate reduction, tape saturation, timing jitter, and filtering in a single chain designed for producers who want their music to feel lived in.
Run a clean synth through it and get something that sounds like it came off a busted cassette deck. Push a drum loop through and watch it fall apart in the best possible way. Use the CV inputs to modulate the degradation in real time, or automate every knob directly in the Reason sequencer.
You can place it on groups, mastering chains, or vocals anywhere you want that warm vintage sound.
What’s inside:
Bit Depth — 16-bit clean to 1-bit destruction
Sample Rate — full fidelity down to 1kHz grit
Saturation — warm tape-style harmonic drive
Jitter — unstable timing for that human, broken feel
Low Pass / High Pass Filter — one knob, full filter control in both directions
Mono switch — collapse to mono for authentic old sampler character
Input / Output — gain staging on both ends
Dry/Wet — blend clean and degraded signals for parallel processing
8 CV inputs — modulate everything in real time
Full automation — all 8 knobs and Mono switch fully automatable
Live frequency display — see the signal moving through the cassette window
14 factory presets — from Cassette Tape warmth to full Destruction
14 Factory Presets:
Cassette Tape · Vinyl · VHS Tape · Bedroom Lo-Fi · AM Radio · Telephone · 8-Bit · Mono Lo-Fi · Subtle Warmth · Warm Saturation · Crushed · Glitch · Space · Destroyed
How is Artifact different from Audiomatic?
Audiomatic uses convolution-based presets that apply fixed lo-fi character in one click. Artifact gives you individual control over each degradation parameter separately, with CV modulation and full automation on every knob. Think of Audiomatic as a collection of lo-fi snapshots. Artifact is a lo-fi engine you can tune, automate, and modulate in real time.
Built for lo-fi, beat making, sound design, and anything that deserves a little damage.
