It’s time for a rendezvous with RAMA, PinkNoise Studio’s new para/polyphonic synthesizer.

RAMA is a classic synth on steroids. The heart of RAMA is a vintage synthesizer from the 80s. This is the Korg Poly-800, which has some unusual features:

• oscillators (DCO) build the waveform from variations of 4 simple pulse waves

• Paraphony: polyphonic sounds with a single filter

• six stage envelope generator

But these are only the starting points, RAMA has many other features that make this instrument a powerful synthesizer that can hold its own in any music style.

RAMA has different levels of complexity, depending on your needs. Using the grouped global controls it can be simple like an axe, eg. if you want to create a simple bass. But once you separate them, RAMA can be as complex as an airbus cockpit: it’s up to you.

RAMA version 1.5.3

• the synthesizer sometimes misinterprets values ​​coming from the Performance CV inputs on the back panel, fixed.

RAMA version 1.5.2

• Parametric EQ FX modulation was incorrect, fixed.

• the small cable animation between the FX3 and Master module incorrectly showed the connection between the modules, fixed.

• the default settings for the distortion effects (in FX1, FX2, FX3) were not consistent, so if you swapped them using the default settings, they sounded different. Corrected.

• Other minor graphic improvements for a better UX.

• New: bipolar FX modulation inputs on the back panel: even though their values were correctly displayed in the mod source panels, they were actually unipolar, with negative values being ignored. They now work correctly.

• New: small control LEDs on the back panel show the incoming CV input values. Positive values are green, negative ones are blue, and the brightness changes proportionally to the absolute amount.
