The supersaw, with teeth.
Green Goblin is built around one sound: the big trance supersaw. Up to 13 detuned saws per voice, a filter that purrs, screams and sings, and everything a lead or pad usually needs anyway. Arpeggiator, chords, trance gate, pump, chorus, delay and a big 90s hall, all in one green box that barely touches your CPU.
Thirteen saws wide
Pick 1, 3, 5, 7 or 13 saws per voice. Seven is the classic supersaw; thirteen adds a wider halo around it for walls of sound. Detune goes from a gentle chorus through the classic trance lead to wild and wide, Spread sets the stereo width and Mix balances the centre saw against the outer ones. Add a square Top Wave on top and a sine, square or pulse sub below, and the stack turns into basses, organs and hollow leads too.
Clean or Retro
Keep it pristine, or switch to Retro for the gritty sound of the early digital synths that defined late-90s trance.
A filter that sings, a drive that folds
A 12 or 24 dB low-pass with resonance all the way to self-oscillation, so the filter becomes a sine you can play from the keyboard. The first half of Drive is a warm overdrive; the second half blends in a sine wavefolder for glassy, metallic and vocal tones. Put it before or after the filter.
One finger, a whole progression
Twelve voices in poly, mono or legato, with glide. Chords adds up to three notes to every key, and they feed the arpeggiator with six modes, inserts and hold. When the voices run out, chord notes give way first, so every key you play keeps sounding.
Rhythms that lock together
Paint a 16-step trance gate, or let the pump duck the sound in time. The pump closes just before each beat, so notes on the beat never blip through. Arpeggiator, gate, pump, synced LFO and delay all run on the same clock, before or after the effects.
Run anything through the Goblin
Plug a drum loop, a vocal or another synth into the back panel and play it through Green Goblin’s filter, gate, pump and effects, opened by the filter envelope while you hold keys. Feed a kick into the sidechain input and the pump follows it. Feed one sound into both, and it squeezes itself.
Effects included
A lush stereo chorus, a tempo-synced ping-pong delay with tape-style repitch, and a big 90s hall with tails up to 20 seconds. Width and mono bass on the output keep the low end tight.
Touch Data Programmer
The display draws your saw stack live as it beats and spreads, and holds a 16-slot modulation matrix with a scale source per slot. The mod envelope can run once, loop or follow the key, and runs at audio rate on pitch and cutoff for snappy blips and FM-like tones.
100+ factory patches
Leads, pads, keys, chords, basses, arpeggios, gate and pump rhythms, effects and percussion. Many respond to the mod wheel and aftertouch.
