It measures your performance, snaps it to a musical grid, and answers with a reflection of your own phrase, processed by a gauntlet of transformations. Then it loops that reflection, letting it evolve, mutate, and drift for as long as you like.

Narcissus is a generative MIDI and CV processor that listens to the phrases you play and responds with evolving, in-key variations. Whether you are looking for a thoughtful call-and-response companion using Answer mode or a real-time echo and harmonizer in Duet mode, it takes your initial musical spark and gently stretches it into new territory.

The controls feel like tweaking an instrument rather than programming a sequencer. By dialing in a bit of tape-style Drift, rhythmic Rate stuttering, or gradual Mutation, your original loop will transform over time without ever losing its fundamental groove.

Finally, for those who love modular routing, Narcissus hides an “Alter Ego” on the back panel—a secondary polyphonic CV output that runs your notes through an entirely independent set of rules to drive a second instrument in parallel.
