TRIX is a compact gate sequencer that takes the gate lane of Reason’s Matrix Pattern Sequencer and builds on it. There are no notes and no curve, just gates: 16 steps with velocity and ties, each with its own timing and probability.
Draw a pattern with the mouse, set how long each step lasts (half, normal or double) and how often it fires. You get patterns that shift, breathe and drift against the bar line while staying locked to the song. RANDOM writes a new pattern, and AMOUNT decides how much of it changes. It can also be triggered by CV, and a new pattern always lands cleanly on a step.
TRIX follows the transport or runs on its own with RUN. It takes CV for run, reset, loop length, probability and random. It fits in 1U, and COLOR switches the whole device between seven colour schemes, so several TRIX devices in one rack are easy to tell apart.
