We’re excited to announce that Reason 13.3 is now available! This free update to Reason 13 includes lots of bug fixes and improvements, further refinements to Reason’s new look, and the much-requested ability to use the Browser as a side panel.

The new browser in Reason 13 introduced categories, tags, and a wide range of enhancements for quickly exploring and navigating all the content in Reason. However, after release it became clear that the Browser window itself wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea. You asked, we listened—with Reason 13.3, you can now switch between Window and Side Panel Browser with a single click, depending on what best suits your workflow. You can also set your preferred option as the default in Preferences for new songs.
Speaking of Preferences, that window has been completely redesigned in 13.3. With a cleaner, more intuitive layout that matches the rest of the program, it’s easier than ever to find the settings that matter to you. Several other parts of Reason have also been visually refreshed—dialogs, the on-screen keyboard, and other interface elements now feel fully integrated into Reason 13’s updated design.
There are many additional fixes and improvements—check out the Release Notes for the full list—but here are two updates we especially want to highlight. First, the waveforms in the sequencer now look significantly better thanks to improved drawing code. Grab an audio clip and zoom in (perhaps using Reason 13’s new timeline drag zoom?) and you’ll notice a big visual upgrade. No more jagged edges!
Second, we’ve updated the behavior of the Mixer, Rack, and Sequencer buttons to better match the F5, F6, and F7 shortcuts. A single click will now maximize that view, while shift-clicking adds it to your current layout—ideal if you want to view the Rack and Sequencer side by side. It might sound like a small change, but it makes navigation quicker and more intuitive.
If you haven’t upgraded yet, now’s a great time. With seven new devices, a powerful revamped browser, a sequencer overhaul for faster workflow, a refreshed interface, and plenty of enhancements—Reason 13 is ready to help you create your best music yet!
