Drawing inspiration from one of the greatest drum machines in music history, the DM-888 delivers classic analog sounds with numerous modulation options and extended ranges. This advanced emulation convincingly replicates the original sounds based on circuit schematics while expanding your tonal possibilities through the additional MOD options. Focusing on flexibility and creative sound sculpting, the DM-888 provides both classic vibes and an expanded sound palette.

Features:

• Modelled, Not Sampled: All eleven voices are generated by synthesis built from the original circuit schematics

• Authentic Circuit Behaviour: The quirks are modelled along with the sounds. Kick rolls accumulate, the closed+open hat result in a the hybrid open/closed sound, and the cowbell, hi-hats and cymbal share a single bank of tone generators — so retuning the cowbell shifts the metallic colour of the hats and cymbal, exactly as it does in the hardware.

• Unique MOD Panel: open the panel and reveal a set of trimmers for pitch modulation depth, snare noise decay, tom detune, clap spacing and room, oscillator tuning and duty cycle. Every trimmer sits at its calibrated position by default, so an untouched panel sounds like the reference unit and every move you make is a departure you can hear.

• Extended Ranges: Many parameters run past the factory unit limits, including the extended bass drum decay modification, giving you sounds the original couldn’t create.

• Effect / Dynamics Section: A master processor at the end of the chain, with three modes and eight selections each — compressors, a bass-drum-triggered ducker that leaves the kick untouched, three drive characters from warm overdrive to hard clipping, stereo and ping-pong delays, tape, room, hall, plate and spring reverbs, flangers, choruses, phasers and tremolo.

• Extensive CV Connectivity: Note and gate CV in, eleven per-voice gate inputs, eight gate outputs that carry the accent of every hit, and fifteen bipolar parameter CV inputs.

• Full Output Routing: Eight stereo individual outputs and an assignable Custom Out for sidechaining or parallel processing.

• Accents and Ghost Notes: Every voice responds to accent the way the original circuit does, and a soft zone below the normal hit gives you velocity-controlled soft hits.

• Intuitive Interface: Sixteen trig buttons for playing the kit by hand, switchable to solo and mute for the eight groups.

• Preset Kits: Over 60 kits, from calibrated factory settings to alternative revisions, worn units and experimental extremes.
