A Synth Designed for Exploration
Some synthesizers excel at one thing.
SteamGarden was designed to explore many.
At its core, SteamGarden is built around two powerful morphing oscillators and two filter stages. Each oscillator can continuously transform across a wide range of timbres and synthesis styles - from classic virtual analog to spectral, harmonic, phase distortion, and West Coast-inspired textures - all within a unified morphing architecture.
This design creates a fluid, continuous sound-design space rather than a collection of fixed engines, allowing you to discover new sounds through movement and interaction between the two oscillators.
Morph Instead of Switch
SteamGarden is built around two independent oscillators and two filter stages.
Each oscillator can operate as a traditional analog-style waveform generator or become a powerful 3D morphing engine capable of continuously transforming between entire families of sounds.
The dual oscillator architecture lets you combine and blend different timbral characters simultaneously. One oscillator can provide classic analog weight while the other introduces complex harmonic content, phase distortion, or aggressive folded textures.
Rather than selecting a destination and stopping there, SteamGarden encourages continuous movement between sounds. The result is an instrument that feels less like a collection of preset oscillator types and more like a continuous sound-design landscape.
Multiple Synthesis Styles in One Instrument
SteamGarden gives you access to a broad range of synthesis styles through its versatile oscillator algorithms, all within a single cohesive instrument.
Create classic subtractive sounds using virtual analog waveforms.
Explore rich harmonic-spectrum morphing that moves smoothly between warm, hollow, bright, and harmonically dense timbres.
Dive into vocal, reed-like and formant-inspired textures using Phase Morph.
Venture into aggressive sync, wavefolding, saturation, and harmonic shaping with the West Coast-inspired morphing oscillators.
Cross-FM, ring modulation, and Through-Zero FM further expand the sonic possibilities by enabling rich interaction between the two oscillators. Because both oscillators can use different algorithms at the same time, entirely new hybrid sounds emerge from their combination.
A Filter That Moves With Your Sound
Most synthesizers force you to choose between lowpass, bandpass, or highpass operation.
SteamGarden removes those boundaries.
Its state-morphable filter allows smooth movement between filter responses, creating evolving tonal shifts.
An additional all-pass dimension introduces phase-based coloration and phaser-like movement when modulated.
Push things further with the nonlinear feedback drive section. Subtle settings add warmth and harmonic richness, while aggressive settings introduce bite, edge, and character directly inside the filter structure.
The result is a filter that behaves as a sound-design tool rather than a simple tone control.
Powerful Yet Approachable Modulation
Movement is a core part of SteamGarden’s design.
Dual LFOs operate simultaneously at both voice and global levels. Flexible DAHDSR envelopes with curve shaping, combined with a 24-slot modulation matrix (split into voice and shared sections), make it easy to build expressive patches, rhythmic modulation, evolving textures, and performance-oriented sounds.
Velocity, aftertouch, expression, mod wheel, CV sources, and MIDI performance controls can all become active parts of your sound.
Built for Creative Workflow
SteamGarden is designed to encourage experimentation without slowing you down.
Interactive visual displays allow direct manipulation of oscillator, filter, and LFO parameters. Intelligent randomization tools, adaptive oversampling, and the subtle Harmonic Processor help keep creativity flowing.

A Playground for Sound Designers and Musicians
SteamGarden was built for creators who enjoy discovering new sounds as much as playing them.
Its combination of morphing oscillators, flexible modulation, innovative filtering, and integrated effects makes it equally suited for everyday production and deeper sonic exploration.
If you’re looking for a synthesizer that moves fluidly between familiar analog sounds and more unusual textures, SteamGarden provides a rewarding environment where experimentation feels musical and intuitive.
