frequently asked questions

Is this a ‘Lite’ version?

Absolutely not, Reason Rack includes every single synthesizer, instrument, effect, and Player device from Reason Studios—plus weekly Sound Packs

What happens to my songs if I cancel my subscription?

Your project files remain safe, but the Reason Rack Plugin will no longer render audio until you renew. We recommend bouncing your Reason tracks to audio (stems) if you plan to pause your subscription.

Do I need to be online to make music?

You only need to be online once every 30 days to verify the license. You can produce on a plane, on a mountain, or in a remote cabin without issues.

The Reason Rack looks complicated. Is it hard to learn?

Only if you want it to be. You can use Reason just like any other plugin: load a Patch and tweak the knobs on the front. You never have to flip the rack or touch a cable unless you want to dive deep into sound design.

Can I use this on multiple computers?

Yes. You can install the Reason Rack on multiple machines (e.g., your studio desktop and your travel laptop). Just log in to your account to authorize the device you are currently using.

What is the difference between the Subscription and the License?

Reason Rack Subscription unlocks all 93 instruments, effects, and utilities, plus every new device we release in the future. It also includes 50,000+ sound packs, samples and loops, with new Sound Packs added every single week. The License is a one-time purchase that includes the 68 core devices of the Reason Rack and 50,000+ sound packs, samples and loops. Please note that the license does not include weekly Sound Pack updates or free future device upgrades.

If I buy the License, can I add other devices later?

Yes. The license includes 68 core devices. You can purchase other devices and extensions (like Complex-1 or Friktion) individually in our shop at any time.

Do I get updates with the license?

You will receive free maintenance and bug-fix updates for your current version. However, major new version upgrades or entirely new devices will require a separate purchase. Reason Rack Subscribers get everything automatically.
